Just a few minutes ago I was given the information that a concert of one of my favourite artists in the world has been postponed to next year due to covid. Obviously a wave of sadness just washed over me and suddenly I had a very bad mood, seeing thighs worse than they actually are. I feel like especially in these difficult times a lot of us can feel this way. We might fall into sadness more easily, since it can seem that there is no light at the end of this covid tunnel that we found ourselves in. Now, more than ever, it is important to realize how we are feeling and if we do not want to feel that way, we should change it. Easier said than done, huh? But worry not, because I've got your back. In this article I'm going to give you some advice on how to feel happier in a snap of fingers.

My first tip would be to try to trick your brain into the state of happiness. For example, listen to happy and energetic music. Sing along to your favourite pop songs and dance! Music affects us more than we realize. Lot of times, when we are feeling down, we tend to listen to very sad music, because we feel like it reflects our feelings. And sometimes, there is nothing better than listening to Falling on repeat. However, if you want to feel happy, you should try switching to something more uplifting. Just jump around and sing your favourite Taylor Swift song, until you realize that you are not actually sad anymore.

My second advice, and I can't stress this enough, is not to bottle up your feelings inside yourself. If you have the opportunity, then reach out to someone. First of all, you will feel a lot better after sharing your thoughts and feelings. Second of all, they might give you some advice, or they can make you feel understood and heard. If you do not have anyone to possibly talk to, try at least writing your feelings on a piece of paper. It does not matter whether you keep the paper afterwards or if you choose to burn it to the ashes. Sometimes writing things down and getting them out of your head can help you to let go.

Lastly, I would advise you to keep yourself moving. It does not matter if you go for a walk, if you work out, or if you choose to go to ride a bike. When you work out, for example, you can turn your sadness into fuel. You can stop the negative thoughts and focus only on the physical work you are doing. Going out for a nice walk in nature or a city can be also relieving. You can get yourself truly lost and you can just look around you and appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.

Feeling sad is undoubtedly normal and it is completely okay to feel that way. However, when we are feeling down too often, things can just slip through our fingers without us even knowing at the moment. Plus there are times when you just do not want to feel sad but it seems like there is nothing you can do. Well, now, after reading this article, you know exactly what to do in such a situation.
