Beer Fans

This summer was a little different from the last ones. My best friend wasn't tanning in Bulgaria these two months as she always used to do and decided to stay in Czechia and make some money instead. Because she refused to join the vacation with her family, we had to take care of her until they came back. It was a little more challenging from time to time but we overall really enjoyed it.

The last week of August, we visited a cottage in Southern Bohemia in a small village called Lutová. We love to go there almost every year mainly because of the beautiful countryside and places to bathe. It had been raining pretty heavily since the day we had arrived so we hesitated about what we could do in that inclement weather. We obviously took some trips around but it still wasn't very convenient due to the bad conditions.

One time when we were driving home from a trip, we turned on the radio loud and heard something like:

"There is a film festival going on in Třebon throughout the whole week so you should definitely come and support the first year of this incredible event!"

And I guess this was the sign we all waited for, so right after that day, we went to see our first film in the Třeboň's cinema. I am not even sure how many hours we had spent there in total but we had grown fond of the cinema staff so it was surely a pleasure to meet them again and again.

To get to the point of the story, we had to rate each movie we went to see and the staff collected the votes and at the end there was a prize draw. One of the men mixed the notes with our names as we waited to hear the results and hoped for our win.

"And the winner is…Monika Kůsová!", he shouted.

We won a huge pack of canned beer which my mum and my friend were very excited about, not me so much cause I hate beer. The funny thing was that there weren't many people (sometimes the audience was very poor) as it was their first year starting this festival so the chance to win was quite high. So almost every time we went there we expected we would win a set of beer.

In the end we didn't even know what to do with so much beer excess. At least we had some presents for our relatives.
