Dan Vávra is one of the most recognizable Czech game developers. His career started at Illusion Softworks. He is most known for being director and writer on the Mafia series. Mafia is the most famous Czech game known worldwide. The game was released in 2002 which makes it two years older than me. His last game at Illusion softworks was Mafia II. He wrote a scenario for it but he couldn't participate in the game's development. Then he left the company because of the director continuously changing the design and story of the game.

Since 2011 he is a creative director at Warhorse Studios working on realistic medieval open world RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which is one of the most successful crowdfunded games so far. It is very unfortunate that the game comes from Czech Republic; it has no Czech dubbing or subtitles though. But what Warehorse didn't make in time, the fans will create by themselves. After 3 years the game will have complete Czech dubbing, subtitles, captions. I expect it will be brilliant and I hope I will finally play the whole game in Czech.

On social sites Dan Vávra is commenting on events and public affairs in the world with his opinions. I think it is very significant to speak about what I really think and not to be tied up with social boundaries of course to a certain extent. He established the Society for Defending the Freedom of Expression and he is trying to stop censorship on the internet.
