Interesting things about     European Union

The main cities of the EU are Brussels and Strasbourg, which are 350 km apart. Many politicians travel between those two cities every half of the week. That's a huge problem because most of them travel by plane, which isn't really ecological. You can also ask if they can stop with it, but the answer is no. This travel (working) connection between Brussels and Strasbourg cannot stop in the present or even in the near future because of the importance of these two cities. Brussels hosts, for example, the official seats of the European Commission, Council of the European Union and European Council. Strasbourg, on the other hand, hosts the European Court of Human Rights, Council of Europe and other important institutes. In a nutshell, Strasbourg is as important in the European Union as the more familiar Brussels.

Everyone in Czechia knows that in 2004 Czech republic joined the EU, or I hope so. But do you know some Czech politician in the EU Parlament with a good name? Well, you haven't obviously heard about Věra Jourová because she has a bloody hell good reputation in the EU. People like her because she gets things done and is wise. Věra Jourová is nowadays also a Vice-President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, which is a good legacy for Czechia and a great improvement of foreigners' views of the Czech Republic as a part of the EU.

She's mainly known for noticing double food quality and fighting against it. And the big question she asked is why the same products have different quality or ingredients in different countries because they should have the same wherever and anywhere, but they don't, and you can clearly see it.

I was sincerely surprised about the fact that the EU Agency for the Space Programme resides in Prague, namely in Holešovice. But don't confuse it with the European Space Agency, which resides in Paris. For understanding: The EU Agency for the Space Program is an agency of the European Union that ensures the fulfilment of the so-called EU space program.
