,,Big four"... you probably somewhere heard this word but you didn't know what does this mean? The Big four are the most important cities for fashion because they are the capitals. Among them belong three European and one American city. These cities are Milan, London, Paris and New York and in this article you will find out more about Milan. 

Fashion capital is a city which has a major influence on international fashion trends and is just famous for the fashion ability of the city. Another sign of fashion capital are famous fashion brands because when someone says for example Gucci or Versace everyone knows that these two brands are from Milan. And the last thing we can tell if a city is a fashion capital are events like fashion weeks. Fashion weeks are a very important part of this industry because this is the way designers and fashion brands show the latest collections and trends.

Milan has the longest history of them all because this city has been regarded as the Fashion Capital of the World already in the 16th century. The city hosts one of the largest fashion weeks in the world - Milan Fashion Week and only the most elite members of the fashion industry attend. Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana, Prada, Giorgio Armani or Versace are world famous brands which were founded just in Milan. Also, Milan is or has been the home of so many famous fashion designers that it is impossible to name them all. Among them belongs Gianni Versace and his sister Donatella Versace owner of the brand Versace, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Miuccia Prada or very famous Giorgio Armani. Designers from Milan and beyond come together for Milan Fashion Week during the months of February and March for the Spring-Summer Collection and September and October for the Fall-Winter Collection and are showing their extraordinary pieces.
