Halloween in Korea isn't celebrated in the way we know. Koreans don't celebrate Halloween by carving pumpkins or going trick or treating. But they still celebrate this holiday. Typically, there are huge customs parties in Korea, mainly in Seoul's districts Hongdae or Itaewon. Many clubs and bars are open during Halloween day(s), where people can gather and have fun. If you want to buy costumes in Korea, you sadly don't have too many options but don't give up just yet. There are some costume shops in Seoul, and one of the best shops is the Toy Party Store in Gangnam. So when buying a costume, make sure to give it a visit!

When it comes to families celebrating Halloween together, parents actually don't celebrate it in the original way with their children. They rather take them to one of Korea's amusement parks, for example, Lotto World, which hosts the Halloween Horror Festival every year. For this event, many attractions get a Halloween do-over, and there is also a Halloween-themed parade where children are given candies. Another event to attend during Halloween is the Zombie Run Festival; there are two groups of participants - survivors and zombies. The zombies are played by people with proper zombie costumes and makeup. The survivor's task is to run away from the zombies. The run is 3 kilometers long and starts from Lotte World Tower. If you want to enjoy the spookier side of Seoul's streets, you can sign up for the Dark side of Seoul Ghost Walk tour.

Sadly, there's not any typical Korean food to be found during Halloween, but you can always go to one of many Starbucks cafés and get Halloween-themed food or drinks.
