How to Stay Healthy When Playing Videogames
(or when stuck at computer at home the whole day during corona)
Richard Pulda
Let's say, that your job is to play computer games eight hours a day. Now that may sound easy or even trivial besides it being boring for someone. But do not get fooled, in the first place you have to be good at what you play and second, sitting before your screen 8 hours a day is no easy long - term task. And so, I wanted to make some sort of a guide that tells you how to stay healthy even if you are sitting for such a long time every day.
I would like to start with layout of your food income. Breakfast should be somewhere around 20% of your overall food income and you can get very creative with it. It can be pastry, fruits, yogurt, vegetables, ham, cheese eggs and so on. Just make sure it is not the same every time. Snack circa 10%, however you should have at least two of them per day: between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. Next up is lunch: Lunch is supposed to be the biggest meal of the day with its 35%, but the meal shouldn't be too big or eaten too late. You shouldn't have your lunch after 3 o' clock since it could mess up your later food schedule. Last but not least we have dinner. It should be 25% and so the second biggest meal of the day. You should be switching between warm and cold dinner to keep it balanced.
Next topic is exercising and being fit. It is a huge part of living a healthy life whatever your job and hobbies are. It is recommended to exercise everyday of the week, but that is, of course, mostly difficult to say the least. When you sit most of the day, you should do something at least four times a week. You can go to the gym (that is sadly, currently impossible), you can exercise at home or just go for a walk. Don't forget to do stretching!
