I Know What You Have in Your Head

The possibility of reading thoughts of other people is shown in many science fiction movies or books, but now it's becoming true.

In recent years, physicists and neuroscientists have developed an armory of tools, that can read certain kind of thoughts and transport these information into brains of other people. This makes mind reading a reality.

These specific tools work in the same manner as an electroencephalograph (EEG) that records an activity of one's brain and then it uses TMS to read the information aquired by EEG and to transform it into a thought. Then it transmits it into another brain.

TMS reads brain activity by inducing electrical activity in specific brain areas. For example, a magnetic pulse centralized in one place in the brain.

In 2015, Andrea Stocco and his colleagues at the University of Washington in Seattle used this set to connect two people and to create a brain-to-brain transport channel. It was based on theirs answers on 20 questions asked. The next step was allowing these two people speaking for a while. And the final stage was making a group conversation.

The problem of spreading this technology further on is that the devices are still unusually big and complicated. If it works as a program at university, the next step has to be making this invention much smaller to make it as much comfortable to use as possible. It looks like absolutely normal work for scientists, but making an electronic device of this specific function smaller, but still working, is an extremely hard challenge.

I think we should watch scientific advances around us and encourage them, because they create a world we will be living in.
