CAE - is it that necessary?

When you are around 17 it is the best time to start thinking about things like graduation and stuff. As you probably know here at GPJP we have 5 subjects you have to graduate from. Frankly there's this thing called a certificate that can help you to a certain extent. 

These certificates are a confirmation of a level of a language. These helpful things can substitute the speaking part of the exam. Which in my opinion is super helpful since you don't have to focus on another subject which you're gonna graduate from. But wait, there's more! When you are a one of many holders of the certificate you can use it to give yourself an advantage when you want to apply for a college or a job.

From my experience it is quite easy to obtain if you're good at English. If you're not that confident in your English then you should focus on preparation and getting familiar with the format of the exam. As mentioned it is so helpful once you have it.

Also If I were you I would try to get one before your senior because then you would lose the advantage of not stressing about 5 subjects. So what are you waiting for? Go and get one!

I definitely agree with the stress relief when you need to study for one less subject for maturita. Even though our school is one of the few who demands to have 5 graduation subjects (while other schools usually have 4), it makes the relief less intense, however, being able to write the certificate in our school can be considered helpful. - Alice Plachá
