Don't Be Afraid of - Spiders!
Oskar Hanh
I want to walk you through different types of spiders, their look, appearance, breeding, lifespan and much more.
If you are interested in biology and insects I have just the right thing here for you. Maybe you are afraid of spiders but you are curious at the same time, just like me, or you just want to remind yourself what is the thing you are afraid of.
Spiders are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in total species diversity among all order organisms.
I'll tell you all the most and the least things about spiders.
The largest spider is the Giant huntsman spider which can reach up to 30cm so it's big as a dinner plate. By mass, the biggest is the Goliath birdeater which can reach up to 28cm.
The smallest is probably Patu digua which can reach a body size of only about 0.37mm!
The most venomous spider is the male Sydney funnel-web spider. There is a recorded case of a small child dying within 15minutes of a bite from a funnel-web spider. Since 1981 there have been no recorded fatalities from Sydney funnel-web spider bites. There are 13 recorded deaths by these spiders.
The oldest spider was named Number 16 (1974 - 2016), also known as #16, was a wild female trapdoor spider (Gaius villosus) that lived in North Bungulla Reserve near Tammin, Western Australia. She died in 2016, at an estimated age of 43 years, and is the longest-lived spider recorded to date.
