You can feel his contributions to the gaming world every time you turn on a console or play a modern game on a computer. He is the one who is responsible for taking the games to 3D. Without him you can only imagine how the first person shooters would be like.

He is an American programmer most known for his work on games like Doom, Wolfenstein 3D or Quake. His successfulness is seen even now when a lot of people still do play the Doom and Quake. In 1991 he established a company which makes 3D games and engines. Now he is a CEO of Oculus VR which makes virtual reality goggles and generally deals with virtual reality.

It is funny that he first met his wife at QuakeCon in 1997 which would never happen if he didnt realise that he wants to be a game developer and programmer. He was so successful that in 1997 he owned two Ferraris. His hobbies are rocketry and aerospace. In 2000 he established a company that should have made financially accessible rocket motors.

We all should be glad that he pioneered 3D in games in this way. I don't want to be in a world where there are no 3D games.
