Do you go for a run early in the morning or do you prefer night time with stars above you type of run? No matter what you prefer, I bet I can guess the brand of shoes you run in. It's Nike isn't it? Or if I am wrong, Adidas? Regardless me being right or not, we are going to talk about the number one brand in sportswear, the well known NIKE.
Nike, Inc. is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services. The company's headquarters is near Beaverton, Oregon, in the Portland metropolitan area. It is the world's largest supplier of athletic shoes and apparel and a major manufacturer of sports equipment, with revenue in excess of 37.4 billion USD in its fiscal year 2020. Impressive right?
The company was founded on January 25th, 1964, as "Blue Ribbon Sports", by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, and officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30th, 1971. Nike produces a wide range of sports equipment. Their first products were track running shoes. Currently, they also make shoes, jerseys, shorts, cleats, baselayers etc. for a wide range of sports, including track and field, baseball, ice hockey, tennis, association football (soccer), lacrosse, basketball, and cricket.
Nowadays, Nike's products are not used for their actual purposes, they are more of a fashion statement. Frankly, we cannot be blamed - did you see the new Valentine's Day edition of the Air Force ones? They are so adorable!
This was the FIRST original logo, which one do you like the most? The first one or the more current one?
