Perks of Sleepwalker

24.11.2023

There was a raging storm this land hasn't seen in years when the train accidentally stopped on the bridge in the middle of nowhere. However this didn't interrupt Locrine in his sleep. But a few minutes later he was woken up by Sunbeams that tore the dark sky into a quiet sunny weather.

Before he could fully come to his senses he heard gunfire coming from the lounge in the front of the train. Locrine was quite courageous so he decided to check on what's happening there. With every step closer to the lounge there was more and more visible blood on the floor of the train.

His growing curiosity would kill him if he didn't look inside. Although after he opened the lounge he wished he never did. Faded daylight enabled him to see clearly 3 male corpses. Locrine stepped up closer to find out the details. First man was obviously shot in the head by some kind of revolver, that was probably the gunfire he heard before. But the other two were different from their buddy. Around them was significantly more blood coming from their bodies most likely caused by machete or sword.

Another aspect that caught his attention was the bright red scarf fluttering from the broken window of the train. Only track of the murderer. He must've jumped down into the lake beneath. What was he thinking? No man could survive that jump, Locrine though. But then someone from behind grabbed him by the shoulder.

"Your ticket please" he heard. Locrine was woken up by the train conductor. Then there was thunder and he realized that it's still a storm raging outside. Then the train stopped again. Locrine asked the conductor, annoyed "Why are we stopping again?". "Sir, we never stopped before," the conductor replied. Another thunder came and Locrine noticed that across from him sat a young lady wrapped in a bright red scarf. He stared at her for some time but she left shortly after the conductor, a chance to talk to her was away.

Locrine was left in the coupe completely alone with his thoughts and the omnipresent darkness began to dissolve.
