playing IRL #3

Within 2 minutes of pressing 'create account', we received our clue. 'Gangsters gather by the water full of wishes.' Is what it said. The first one was super easy. In my hometown, there is a park where all the homeless, drug addicts, prostitutes, dealers and other low lives like to gather. In the middle of it is a fountain that is said to bring you luck if you throw coins in it. All these freaks throw their cents in there hoping for a brighter future, but usually someone takes everything out.

During the night, fortune be on your side so that you make it out in one piece with all your money and no illness. But during the day, there is nothing to be worried about. Hundreds of people pass through it, since it's a short cut to the train station.

Jason jumped out of his seat and grabbed my arm, pulling me to the hall. ,,Hey, Jason! Calm down, what the heck?!" ,,Mikey, it's the park, the park! Let's go!" ,,I know it's the park, and I also know the park isn't going to run away." But he still pulled me along.

We reached the park. Jason stormed through a flock of pigeons feeding on bread crumbs and they flew off in all directions. During mid-afternoon, the park was completely empty except for a drunkard sleeping under a bush and a teenage emo couple sitting on a bench. I watched Jason circle around the fountain until suddenly stopping and shouting: ,,Got it!"

I looked into the water - and saw words written in bright red: 'Do not be blind towards the world.' Jason crouched and put on his 'thinking hard' expression. I just found myself wondering where do they find the people, time and money to do this and whether they even have permission from the state to run this game.

,,Come on Mike, we have to think. Concentrate." Is what Jason said. So I sat down on the ground next to him. That year was a super hot summer and I was sweating like a pig. Something was distracting me from thinking. I finally noticed what it was. ,,Newspaper! Daily newspaper!" I looked around to see a guy with a mobile pushcart stocked with newspaper trying to give it out. It was weird. This time of the day was the worst to do so. ,,Look Jason, some idiot is trying to distribute newspaper." Jason shook his head. ,,We don't have time for that. Time is ticking. We have to..." Without finishing his sentence, he jumped up, pulling me with him. ,,Mikey! You're a genius!" ,,What? What did I say?" Confused, I followed him to the newspaper guy. He stopped in front of him. ,,In real life?" Jason asked quietly. The man smiled and gave us a newspaper from the bottom of the pile. ,,Thanks." Jason murmured and stormed off with it towards a bench. ,,Jason? What if he was a normal person? He'd think you're crazy." Jason didn't even look at me. ,,So?" Right... I forgot Jason didn't care about public appearance.

He flipped through the newspaper at lightning speed. ,,Here." He flipped the page around to show me more bright red words - 'The home of the gamers lies at B2.'

To shorten it, I figured 'home of the gamers' meant the biggest gaming store in our city. We ran there, reached the gaming section B and took a look at machine number B2. Glued to the bottom was an envelope. We tore it open and inside was the key. A small, tiny, golden key. Our key. Key we found just through some clues. The feeling of success turned out to be addictive. And I couldn't let go of it since.
