Reykjavík
Eliška Kuchynková
Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland. The reason why I love this city is that I think it's different from other ones. You can see that in my project I mostly choose some big modern cities. Reykjavík is really small and has a lot of interesting places. Reykjavík is also my father's favorite city and he visited it many times but without me.
There are a lot of reasons why you should visit Reykjavík. Firstly, cuisine. Icelandic cuisine is really different from others and I think It's worth trying. The most specific food in Iceland is lobster soup which is creamy rich soup that is a must during winter. Another very original food is sheep's head. Personally, I wouldn't taste this one but I understand that some people might like it.

In Reykjavík there are a lot of attractions too. For example, Blue Lagoon which is a geothermal seawater pool complex. It hosts millions of visitors each year and it's one of Iceland's top attractions. There is a bar inside the pool so you can buy a drink and there is also a mask bar which offers cleansing facial masks. Another interesting place is Hallgrimskirkja church. It is 74.5 meters tall and is Reykjavík's most famous church. It is visible from any point in the city. The main reason for me is that you can see the Northern lights. They can be seen from various high-latitude countries in the world but you can spot the spectacular sight from Reykjavík. I remember my dad showing me pictures he took of this light and it was breathtaking.
So, these were some interesting places and reasons why to visit this wonderful city. I hope it motivated you in some way and that you found this chapter interesting. The next chapter is going to be interesting too so you can look forward to it.
