Have you ever tried ice hockey or lacrosse? Did you know they are the most popular Canadian sports?
As we all know, the most played one is ice hockey, it is also known as Canada's national sport. There was also established the well known NHL (National Hockey League) in 1917 and there are currently 7 Canadian teams. The fact that almost half of the NHL players are from Canada also shows the importance of this winter sport in Canada.
The second most popular sport in Canada is called Lacrosse. It is played by 10 players in each team. The rules are pretty specific, but in short, you are only allowed to touch, pass and shoot a ball with a special stick. There are four defenders, three attackers and three players that are allowed to go anywhere on the field. John Tavares, Eduard Charles "Newsy" Lalonde or Albert Gordon "Grumpy" Spring are the Canadian legends in this sport.
