The G.O.A.T. Debate   -Adam Štoidl

As a basketball fan, there was always a question on who is the greatest basketball player of all time. There are mostly two groups. One is saying LeBron James and the other Michael Jordan. Both players have dominated their respective eras, reshaping the game and setting new standards for excellence. To compare Jordan and LeBron is not just to compare statistics, championships, or accolades, but also examine their impact on the game, their leadership styles and their legacy.

In the eyes of winning championships, Michael Jordan is perfect 6-0. This record in NBA Finals is often cited as his strongest case in the debate. As soon as he stepped on the NBA court he dominated. Mainly in the 1990s with a team Chicago Bulls. He was also five times named as the most valuable player in the league. Michael was always shining in clutch moments, especially in the Finals. Some of the game-winning buzzer beaters are legendary.

LeBron James, on the other hand, has "only" fourchampionships, but has reached the NBA Finals 10 times, with four different Teams. He has the ability to carry teams to deep playoff runs, often against tougher competition.
In the case of playing styles, Jordan is known for his scoring skills. Many other players said, that their team goal was, to keep Michael on the ground, because the moment he jumped, he always scored. He also has a lot of clutch performances. For example, the iconic shot from 1989.

LeBron James is known for his versatility. He has played many roles for various teams (Lakers, Cavaliers, Heat). His game combines power, agility and very high basketball IQ. He has been playing in the league for 21 seasons and is starting 22nd right now. He is at the moment the oldest player in the NBA. In his carrier he has surpassed Kareem-Abdul Jabbar in total points scored.

So, who is the GOAT? You decide… For me though, it’s Bronny Jr.(Lebron’s son)
