The Met Gala or Met Ball is the fashion world equivalent of for example the Oscars. An evening when designers, models and Hollywood stars are showing the year's most over-the-top looks. This biggest fashion event is hosted by a very famous and best-known fashion magazine and it is none other than Vogue with Anna Wintour. On the first Monday in May, everyone who is anyone and is famous for the fashion industry is invited and comes to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the annual gala celebrating The Costume Institute´s magnificent new exhibition on a changing theme. It means that every year there is a different theme and celebrities have to wear something connected to it. It all started in 1946 and over the decades it has become a grand affair-party of the year which is inherently connected to the red-carpet fashion. The invites get the world's famous celebrities in all spheres of music, film, Broadway, and fashion but the list changes each year so it is always a big surprise who will appear in here. The dress code changes every year because every year is a new theme so celebrities have to deal with it and show it as interesting as possible by cooperating with famous designers.

In this article, I also want to mention the red carpet standouts who owned 2019 theme ,,Camp" and made it a fashion.

The Camp theme was created for Lady Gaga who wore a 4in1 outfit by Brandon Maxwell. She performed the whole show straight away on the red carpet when gradually discarding individual layers.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner, these two did not shy from the theme and decided to represent the Wicked Stepsisters from Cinderella by dresses made by House of Versace.

Also their sister Kim Kardashians West didn´t stay in the background. She surprised wearing a skin-tight nude dress that may or may not defy the laws of physics because of her waist that was nearly invisible. This look decorated by crystals drops and even hair styled in wet waves shows a wet look straight from the ocean.

Another incredible look showed a singer Cardi B because she technically wore about ten feet of tulle and silk organza made by Thom Browne.

Top model Gigi Hadid went for this theme and styled herself into the ice queen. She stepped out on a carpet in a white, silver and gold streaked catsuit with a matching headpiece and coat with feathers, all designed by Michael Kors who was also her date for the evening.
