Since I've only recently started with the famous DofE, I wanted my volunteering to be somehow special. Don't get me wrong, helping with gpjptimes must also be great, but I was more interested in something different. So I started browsing the internet and I was mesmerized by all the options! Never have I known that there were so many organizations searching for volunteers covering such a broad spectrum of activities.

In this article, I'd like to present to you the "META" organization. Its main purpose is to help the children of foreigners or just kids with a different mother tongue with Czech so that they can assimilate more easily. These kids often struggle at school because of the language barrier so the META organizations provide tutoring for them. The tutors are then volunteers of all ages and, since you usually only work with one kid at a time, I believe that many can also form wonderful friendships. Other than that, META also organizes outdoor adventures for the kids to help them not only orient better at Prague and get to know the city better, but also to find new friends of their age. In my opinion, it's just amazing that there are so many options! In case you are interested in volunteering, I'm sure you can contact META or any other organization you like.
