When the Czech Republic Could Accept Euro?

With joining the European Union, the Czech Republic confirmed several assurances, including the acceptation of the united European currency - Euro. Nearly twenty years passed, and Czech crown is still unnoticeably suffering inflation. Why do we still use it? Will the Euro ever be ours? Do we need it? And is it even obligatory?

Yes, it is mandatory. But technically, we wouldn´t have to ever accept the Euro, and we still wouldn´t break our promise. Because when we signed the document, which made us one of the members of the EU, there wasn´t any deadline for accepting the unified European currency. It is a weird paradox, because we simply have to do it sometimes, and we must admit that it will surely help us, but on the other hand, we can just wait forever, and keep our Czech crown. As it has been already said, it likely wouldn´t help us. So, why do we wait?

The answer isn´t clear, mainly because no one directly said why we hadn´t accepted Euro. The most probable reason is that Czech politics are afraid of taking the crown away from Czech people and giving them Euro. They´re terrified that we would like to keep our present currency. The final question is: Why do we ("the common folks") want to keep it?

Firstly, it will take us some time to get used the new money. Secondly, some of us are scared that Brussel will manage our economy without us, which isn´t true at all. And finally, Czechs are pointlessly stubborn patriots. We want to keep the Czech crown, because it is only ours, and we don´t want to let the mean Brussel to steal us our crown with the beautiful pictures of Charles IV and Comenius.
