Worst Cyberattack in Canada’s History

Have you ever heard of hackers from Russia? Not that they are the smartest in this field, they are just numerous. Probably it's just hateful rhetoric against Russia as a leftover of the cold war, but we can not disprove that those hackers are really capable.

The worst cyberattack in Canada's history happened last year, when ransomware, which is a computer virus that encrypts data and demands for a financial bounty in order to make the data accessible again, successfully infiltrated Newfoundland and Labrador health-care data centre. It has shut down all crucial structures such as an email or diagnostic images and many medical appointments including chemotherapy treatments were cancelled. It left people operating just with pen and paper as it was many years ago.

The question is why cybersecurity authorities didn't prevent it. In my opinion it's almost impossible to overcome any flaw in the source code. So the hackers are always left with a chance to infiltrate the system.
