China is not democracy country, which means, people, do not have all rights. There is also not any freedom for believing.

Recently, in China, in Hongkong, protests and demonstrations continue. People in Hongkong are protesting for their rights. Because Hongkong used to belong to Great Britain, but China demanded that Britain let Hongkong be in China and be under China government. Which people obviously don't want, under Britain, they had freedom and democracy. So they are protesting, but the government and policy in China are using guns and gas against them. And they are arresting a lot of people and being violent.

They are also promulgating new laws, for example, you cannot spread slogans begging for the independence of Hong Kong and so on. This law totally violates the right to speak.

In September, they went for a protest, because of the postponed parliamentary elections.

Also, the number of demonstrations in Hong Kong has declined this year due to collection restrictions imposed by the spread of coronavirus and security law that punishes acts that Beijing considers subversive, separatist, terrorist or secret cooperation with foreign actors.
