Europe

Let's begin with Europe, a continent which includes similar nations and traditions, in my opinion.

Our country, Czech Republic, is placed in the middle of Europe, that is why we sometimes say, it is the heart of Europe. It belongs to a group of nations called Slavs. And with those countries who belong in this group too, like Russia, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine, or Belarus and a lot more, we have many things in common. It is for example language, which is very similar in all of those countries, but also some traditions too and the same origin.

Then there are other ethical groups in Europe. Countries like Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Iceland belong to a group of Germanic peoples. They also have similar language and origin.

We all know that Europe is based on the Christian religion, even though in our country most of the people are atheist, in countries around us, habitats are mostly Christians. For example in Poland, where there is about 90 per cent of Christians.

And this religion is reflected in the traditions of our continent. Also, constitutions and laws here are based on Christianity. And art too, also architecture.

Europe has been divided in the last century, into the west and east, as the east part of Europe was ruled by a communist totalitarian regime. Even now, we can see the differences between both parts of Europe, in the economy, but also architecture.
