Hollywood is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles in California, USA. The district is historically associated with major American film companies, and the name Hollywood is therefore used as a synonym for American cinematography. And that´s exactly the Hollywood I wanna talk about!

Many of its studios, such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and Universal Pictures, were founded there and Paramount still has its studios at the location. Hollywood was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It was consolidated with the city of Los Angeles in 1910, and soon thereafter a prominent film industry emerged, eventually becoming the most recognizable one in the world.

Now let's mention something about the Hollywood neighborhood itself. The main center of the district is Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. One of the main monuments is Grauman´s Egyptian Theatre, where the first Hollywood film premiere took place in 1922.

Its film and cultural identity are so famous that the word Hollywood is often used as a designation of the whole American film and television industry. Although today most of the film industry is located in surrounding areas, such as Burbank and Westside, support and technical services (such as film editing, film effects, post-production, lighting) remain in Hollywood.

Many historical cinemas in Hollywood have become a venue of major film premieres and guests awarding of prizes Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Oscar.

This district is also a popular tourist destination, Hollywood Walk of Fame is located here or famous Universal Studios Hollywood where the attractions are inspired by movies like King Kong, The Mummy, Jurassic Park, The Terminator 2, or Shrek.
