iOS 14

Apple released its new software update for IOS called IOS 14, which introduced us to a completely new look for the iPhone home screen. In the past, being creative with your home screen on an iPhone was almost impossible, you had a set layout that couldn't be changed. But that all ends now with this new update.

Apple presented us with a revamped version of the home screen, which you can now customize with widgets. The widgets come in three different sizes, which you can choose from, and as of now, you can only make widgets from a few apps provided by apple. I wish we could make widgets from third-party apps like Instagram or Facebook, but I'm sure that will come in the future. Widgets are a convenient addition, because they offer you the most valuable information at a glance, without opening the app.

The apps you don't need or don't use on daily basis can be moved to an all-new app library, which organizes all the apps you have installed into categories. This gives you a sleeker and neater look to your home screen, without unnecessary clutter. Although it needs a bit of time getting used to.

Apple also adds an all-new translation app, which I much prefer to the google one. It is very accurate in translations and has the typical polished apple look which I enjoy. The only downfall to this app is the limited selection of languages, which, apple said, will be expanded with time.

In short, this new update is very enjoyable. It finally gives you room to customize your home screen and make it your own, which subsequently makes the experience of using your iPhone more luxurious. There are a few bugs, which are to be expected with a completely new update. And I believe will be improved shortly. Hopefully, we will see more third party widgets in the future, which I am looking forward to.
