Freud And Dreams
He wrote The Interpretation of Dreams where he described his theory of the unconscious with respect to dream interpretation. He believed that the function of dreams is to preserve sleep by representing fulfilled wishes that would get the dreamer awake. By Freud, dreams are instigated as the result of the daily occurrences and thoughts of everyday life. He regarded dreams as a road/way to the unconscious. The conclusion is based on understanding to dream interpretation. He supposed dreams to be important for using dream interpretation in psychotherapy; Freud believed that the therapist's role contributes a lot to dream work's efficacy.
